For many of the long-time members of UROC, you will no doubt have fond memories of flying with Scott Deakins.
Scott was a fixture at UROC launches in the 90s and early 2000s. He flew some of the biggest projects and motors that any of us had seen at the time and was an excellent rocketeer. His attention to detail and his understanding of the craft was evident.
Scott's wife Kay and his daughters Crystal and Brandy attended many of the launches with him.
As the prefect of UROC (Tripoli Prefecture 006) he helped lots of people with their certifications and helped to make UROC what it is today.
Scott M Deakins, age 61, of West Valley, Utah passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022 after a long battle with cancer.
A public visitation for Scott will be held Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Valley View Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah 84120.
A visitation prior to service will occur Friday, March 4, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah 84120.
A funeral service will occur Friday, March 4, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah 84120. An interment will occur Friday, March 4, 2022 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 W 4100 S, West Valley City, UT.
