We are saddened to share the passing of Gary Dean Price, one of the three original founders of the Utah Rocket Club (UROC).
Gary passed away on September 25, 2026, at the age of 71. His connection to UROC reaches all the way back to the club’s beginning, and the organization we have today is part of the legacy he helped create.
Earlier this year, Gary was able to return to the launch field one final time. On May 5, 2026, family and friends took him out for his last rocket launch, where he was able to fly again. We are grateful to have photos from that day and to know that rocketry remained part of his life through the end.
Gary is survived by his wife, Sidney Kay Price; his children, David Ammon, Aaron Michael, Steven James, Jennifer Lynn, and Stacy Lee; his granddaughter, Ashley Elizabeth; his great-granddaughter, Eleanor Rose; and many other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Bluffdale Independence Chapel, 1304 W Cinch Way, Bluffdale, Utah. Viewings are also scheduled prior to the funeral. -

Wounded Warrior Project.
Our thoughts are with Gary’s family and friends. We are especially grateful for the role he played in creating UROC and helping establish a community that has brought generations of Utah rocketeers together.
