Launches

Because of the diverse nature and interests of the members of UROC, the club holds several different types of launches throughout the year. Whether you are interested in High Power Rocketry, Tripoli Experimental Launches, NAR Contests or Model Rocketry UROC has a launch to fit your interests.

Subcategories

Sport Launches ( 7 Events )

Our general launches, generally held at Frank Hunt Field, open to the public, free to come watch. These are our most popular launches. Sport launches are held under the Model RocketRadio Control Rocket Glider, and High Power Codes of the National Association of Rocketry.

HellFire ( 1 Event )

Utah Rocket Club's premier high power event. Held on the only place big enough and hot enough to handle it... The Bonneville Salt Flats.

NAR Contests ( 2 Events )

As a section of the National Association of Rocketry we hold NAR sanctioned competitions throughout each year. Since 1959, sanctioned NAR model rocket competition has evolved into a proven method for challenging the individual to improve craftsmanship and flying skills. It is an activity that emphasizes patience, skill, and sportsmanship. Any NAR member can participate in NAR sanctioned competition.

Research Launch ( 3 Events )

These launches are held to allow special projects, experimental motors and other flights that would not be allowed at a sport launch.  Please note that you MUST be a Tripoli member  to participate in these launches. No Exceptions. The launch is held under the Tripoli Rocketry Association's Research Launch Safety Code. No certification flights are allowed during a Tripoli Research Launch.
